Long long weekends...

It's been quite a while since I've really updated and a lot has gone on.   Due to circumstances I don't really want to talk about, 90% of my things are in a storage unit and the husband and I are currently STILL living with my parents instead of moving back in our friends house.  We are currently now seeking a 3 bedroom place.  Aiming more toward a condo or townhome, though a house is not completely out of the question.

Had some good doll things that have been keeping me rolling pretty strong and have helped out with stress.  I recently received my Asleep Eidolon Yao who is named Derisa.  I really love him and can't wait until I find the time to get a face-up on him.  The reason he doesn't have one already is that I've been working on a commisson on a Volks Kohya head, sadly just a little bit at a time between getting everything packed and moved and all the crazy stressed out and fatigued days.  I still technically have to put a face on Kataega, our Migidoll Miho vampire, before I can get to Derisa.  Finished the Kohya head today but next up is a Hujoo Wings commission.  So much work to get done, but I'm really happy that the official move actually is done and now the house hunting can commence and honestly I feel like I'm finally gonna have a little extra time.

Though I do also still have to get caught up on my work for Digital Manga Guild.  I don't think I'm completely behind, I just wanted to have more done by now.  Deadline for first book is up in about a month so I think so long as I get more diligent about it I won't be too bad off.

I'm having a good day just de-stressing even if it's meant we spent a bit more money than we really needed to eating out this weekend.  We had our sushi dinner at Sapporo we wanted Friday night, had QT corn dogs for breakfast Saturday, then we fed our whole moving crew decent cheap Chinese food, then went out with another friend to Chili's later that night.  We actually did breakfast at home this morning, then hit a Carl's Jr for lunch, then our fave pho place on the way back from seeing a friend this afternoon for dinner.  Then we went to target and shopped... We ended up with far more than what we went in for, but many of them are useful.

Got home just in time to catch Walking Dead.  Tonight's ep was gorier than most others.  Last week's ep was sooo freakishly emotional I just didn't know what was going to happen this week, but as usual they leave us hanging.  Only show I watch and follow at actuate air times these days and I really do enjoy it even if it mildly creeps me out and I have to find a few things to watch or read to "buffer" between the show before going to bed.

Speaking of reading, went on a hunt to a few B&Ns today in search of Bakuman vol 16 without any luck.  Know it came out this past week, but couldn't find it.  However got and devoured Blue Exorcist vol 8 that showed up from Amazon Saturday.

On notes of shipping I'm waiting for 2 doll orders right now, one from Dollmore which has been stuck in customs in Chicago since last Sunday & another from SOOM that arrived to the same customs office yesterday.  Now I'm just waiting to see which of them actually gets released first.  I've never had customs hold onto anything for so long as long as it has been with this dollmore order.  Me and everyone else on the order would really like our stuff.

Anyways, I suppose that's about enough rambling for tonight.  I'll seriously try to keep better updated in the future, but meh, this always seems to happen with me and blogs.  Off to read another chapter of The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms then go to bed.  Tomorrow is Veteran's day which means my job will be a bit light because it is a postal holiday and most of my projects are mail that comes in from the usps.  However there's another project that we will get that comes in through fedex and they don't stop operations for it so yay?  Wish me luck, Tuesday will definitely be hell-ish.

Sooo much going on...

Other social media has pretty much ruined me for blogging.  I remember before Facebook & Twitter I used to log onto livejournal all the time.  Sometimes once a day, other times 5 or more.  It was rare for me to miss a day of make an entry to my blog.  If I missed more than 2-3 days without saying I would there were friends that would express general worry for me to make sure I was okay since I hadn't posted.  And this was back in the days when I was a 14hr college and 32hr retail worker.  So I always ask myself where did all the time I used to spend blogging go?  I still haven't figured this out.  But for sure it's when there's weeks like the week I've had.

There were some major changes put into place this week on one of the projects I work on at work and boy what a mess it was.  We finally got things mostly sorted out by Friday and are going into next week with a better game plan.  I pulled 6 hours of overtime last week mainly based on this project becuase there were still other projects that got exported out later than they should have been because of it.  All the same I feel like we're going to do better at this next week and my paycheck next week should be nicer than usual.

On the homefront, we've officially been at my parents house for over three months while things are slowly getting fixed at Richard's house where we normally rent our bedroom from but things are still going at an amazingly slow snails pace.  We have 75-80% of our things in boxes becuase of this.  We're pretty much ready to give up and if this situation is not resolved within two weeks we are serious apartment hunting.  I feel like we've already really taxed my parents enough with this and I'm so loving that they've put up with us for this long, though they have seemed to genuinely enjoy having us around.  Our own place again would be nice, especially now that we can afford something far better than what we had the last time we lived in our own apt...  though apts have gone up in price even more from the last time we looked and rented as well.

I think I've warned several people that a complete meltdown from me about this whole housing situation is pretty immanent pretty soon.

In dolly news, our Migidoll Miho vampire boy arrived last weekend.  He's quite handsome and I can't wait until I'm able to give him a face-up.  Right now the weather has been so unpredictable and had a lot of humidity so faceups have been a no no which is terrible becuase I still have this commission that I've technically had for 3 months now too.  She's been started on and I warned the girl of our situation and that this was definitely going to take me longer than normal since she sort of mailed it to me without me telling her it was okay to.  Glad I seem to give the feeling of a trustworthy person via the internet.  Since I'm thinking about that though I really should pull her out and make sure I hae progress pics to show.  I was wanting to do a bit more before sending her some, but she's been waiting so long now and I really don't know the next time I'm going to get the chance to work on her girl.   We did actually have to go over to Richard's place to box and bag up all of the dolls since there will be painters coming in and we don't even want there to be any chance of a doll related painter issue.  Edo ended up coming back home with us so now we have 4 dolls at the parents place.  Though I really want to run back over and get a set of clothes for the miho...he's still all naked in his box.

This weekend is hopefully going to be pretty chill.  Was supposed to attend a jewelry party across town for one of my friends, but if I still feel as worn out as I do in a couple of hours I'm just going to cancel.  We've been so super active the last couple months of weekends.  Need a serious chill.  Still going to take Brittany to go see Tricia to get guinea pigs though.  I feel sort of way too awesome for being able to connect two people to help one of them give away the guinea pigs she can no longer manage the time to take care of and helping another friend to add to her amazing home zoo.

Double Dolly Con Weekend!

This past weekend I attended two doll conventions.  BJDC in Austin & Blythecon in Grapevine.  In the end I came home with doll clothes for BJDs and the little ones (blythe and pullip).

Went to Austin Saturday. Husband came and we also took friends Jasmine and Allison.  Stopped in West for kolaches on the way down.  Ran into friends in Austin.  I got to get my doll Hoshi back from Elissa.  She was doll sitting for a while (since March).  I was really starting to miss him though so I was happy to get him back.  Jasmine carried him for me most of the con and apparently he was quite popular.  She said she kept getting lots of comments and at one point just started saying thanks instead of having to go into how it wasn't her doll.  It was pretty hilarious to hear about since we weren't together the whole time.  Ended up buying a dollheart dress set, a msd ajumapama dress, and a 2 piece top from musedoll for SD.  Afterward's we went to Phil's Icehouse and had awesome burgers for lunch.  Logan did a bit more shopping at Dragon's Lair (the game and comic store).  After that we headed back home (well Jasmine's home as we pretty much stayed with her for the weekend).  Stopped in West again to pick up some more goodies then got home around proper dinner timeish.  Went to Target to get some stuff and I sort of broke off from the group and went clothes shopping.  Found a tank top, a new t-shirt, and orange courderoy pants.  I picked the pants up technically for cosplay.  They will look great for Takagi from Bakuman (though they might be a teensie bit bright, but they'll totally work).

Slept and then woke up again and got ready and the husbands dropped us girls off at the Gaylord Texan for Blythecon.  I don't think any of us knew what to expect becuase we were all more than sort of overwhelmed.  I was cursing myself for buying the dollheart outfit the day before becuase there was a vendor there selling stock dolls for less than online pricing.  In the end I blew all of the rest of my cash and picked up a handful of cute and pretty things.  Craziest thing is I'm probably happiest about the little card case I bought for myself.  It's got an adorable print of a sheep being followed by duckies and a hedgehog.   Sort of threw away $20 on raffle tickets and won nothing.  Our friend Heather we met up with there won something in the afternoon raffle, but nothing for the rest of us.  We weren't really upset about spending money on the tickets, we just felt like we wasted our time especially since we came back fro the night raffle after dinner.

I think if I'd posted about this maybe last night I would have had more to say.  Other than what there was to say though I have some photos.

Stuff I bought from BJDC:

I finished Rosa in time to take her mostly complete to Blythecon.  This is what she looked like going in (sans the necklace cause this pic was after the con and I bought it at the con):

This was all the stuff in my goody bag for Blythecon (plus my badge):

And this is all the fun stuff I bought:

And since some of it was for Rosa she got re-dressed.  I'm definitely going to need to get her a different body.  Her little arms don't quite make it through the sleeves.  Oh well just need to order the next size up pure neemo body.

That's al for now.  Bed time for me tonight.  Work has been very busy the last two days so I'm hoping for a better day tomorrow that will hopefully leave me a little less brain dead feeling when I get home.

Sooo Loooong....

This past week felt insanely long.  I'm so happy it's over but I know the weekend is not going to be nearly long enough for my liking.

Discovered the amazingness of Betty Crocker's Reeses Puffs muffings this week at Girls Night with Jasmine and Lacey.  Also watched last weekend's Inkigayo and I still have not watched the other kpop shows from last weekend that I usually watch.  As I said week was long but so tiring I just didn't get around to it ya know.

Also this week one of the cars decided to eat a little money.  Anytime I get my savings account looking any sort of good or right something happens and a car needs money spent on it.  Logan blew out a tire on the way to work and becuase the front two were older than the back two we put two new tires on the car (almost $200 gone).

Last night went to a gallery viewing for our friend Alice and some of the other UTDallas seniors.  I really enjoy Alice's work.  I find it quite fascinating.  Her blog: http://alicegardnerbates.blogspot.com/
Afterwards went to my favorite eattery Sapporo Ramen & Sushi in Richardson with Jasmine & Jim and Debbie & Crockett.

Today was a lot of random errands this morning that wore me the hell out.  Got up early to help my parents pack their car and they are gone off to the east coast for 2 weeks.  So I brought my doll customizing stuff over so I'm not having to mess with my dad's respiratory issues and sealant fumes.  Sure I'm doing it outside and all, but it's really inconenient to go out on the patio spray and then possibly bring a few fumes back in with me that will set him off and then to paint have to take stuff to the back of the house.  So basically I waited for them not to be here so I can just walk out on the patio and do my spraying  then come back in and paint just here in the den.  I've spent most of this afternoon though putzing around on the internet but part of it has resulted in finally after a week posting progress pics of my blythe custom:

I'm really happy how it turned out though she still has some work to go but the painting is complete.  Was hoping I would have done some more today, and still might yet, but not sure.  My big thing today was getting it out there and sharing it.

I've pretty much spent the time since I got back home from morning errands on my computer doing a combo of posting these pics in places, being distracted by U-KISS pictures (especially of my fave member, Kevin), and watching kpop MVs on Mnet America.  Logan is up at the game shop gaming today so I've just been kind of having a day to myself. Been enjoying it even though it's been sort of unproductive (physically though quite productive internet-illy).

All the stuffs

Crazy times as usual.  So found out they are planning Grandma's service for August 4th and in the end there is not enough people to make driving viable, therefore we cannot afford to go becuase flying is too much since they did not hold the service within 14 days of the death.  We're both a bit upset by this, but all the same will follow through our original plans to go to Austin on the 4th for BJDC, then trek back that night and me wake up stupidly early the next morning to go to Blythecon.

This weekend was a lot of fun but there was a lot of out and about.  Joined some doll friends at Yogurtland in Southlake then proceeded from there to run around toy hunting around that general area.  Afterwards ended up back at Jim & Jasmine's place for breakfast for dinner.  Made a whole day of one intended outting and it was hecka fun!

Sunday we got some laundry done and then headed out to Highland Village to see the Herrington-Kelso crew.  I was sooooo happy to get to see Kelly.  I haven't seen her for a month and a half and it was apparently killing both of us as we broke into tears hugging for like 5 minutes.  We hung out for the afternoon and I took the stuff I needed to work on my Blythe and have her faceup and eyelid painting done.  I couldn't thank Kelly enough for just letting me come take over half her kitchen table to work on my doll while she cleaned up a dolly body and did some oxi-bath work on a doll that's going to be a gift to her niece.   All things went well until the death cake though.  It had traces of nuts and she's deathly allergic so she gave us all a bit of a scare but we got some benedryl shoved down her throat and things slowly but surely got better.  We also procured Logan's Dad's bday present from her as well.   Who doesn't love getting something practically new for used friend pricing?

Speaking also of buying bday presents, I finished shopping for Brittany's bday Friday night and am so super excited.  Wanting her bday next Friday to hurry up and get here so I can see her face.  I'm so excited about it, seriously can't you all tell?

I would post more about my blah-tastic day at work, but it's bed time so I guess I'll leave this at this.

Life happens...

So still at the parents house.  They've finally driven us a teensie bit nuts.  I'm ODing on soda and we went out and spent way too much money this past weekend on toys and books.  Had a heck of a great Half Price Books haul and also a decent haul on doll and nerf stuff from a great Target toy dept clerance sale.  Though I have to say this was all probably a bit of retail therapy.

Not only have my parents driven us a bit nutty, but this past week we lost Logan's grandmother, Grandma Goat.  She was visiting her other grandchilden and great grandchildren in Wisconsin when the lord called her home.  She was very loved and will be very greatly missed.  Last thing I can remember us telling her was that it was great to see her and that we loved her which was almost two months ago.  She only lived here in the area with family for the last year, but there's been so many good memories with her even before she moved here for the time that she did.  Currently the plan was that she would be cremated in WI and brought back home to CA where she was about to get all the arrangements finished to move back to.  They are having a service for her sometime soon.  We still don't have a date.  One of our aunts is handling this and we haven't head anything yet other than it may be a weekend that confilicts drastically with plans we'd already had which has had me very upset.  I figure if it does happen that weekend I will be upset if I go and upset if I say.  The husband has told me to stay and do my double doll convention plans.  I figure he would probably me be upset and not have to be around me than be stuck in a car with other family members for two days with me upset.  All the same I just wish they would tell us a date so we can figure things out.  My job is still waiting for me to tell them whether I need time off to go or not.  She passed the 4th of July but the last heard tentative date for the service was Aug 4.... not very comforting.

I had a pretty terrible Monday this week.  Had to work an odd shift at work which was a really slow dragging day and then was frustrated all day about the funeral service thing.  Tuesday was better but still sort of dragging.  Today was decent, though work at work is pretty slow right now which always makes for some mild annoyance from everybody.

Got home today and got to watch a little TV while eating dinner before the parents came home.  They came home and I retreated to the bedroom.  Had bigger better plans for my evening but am now trying to figure out what I actually did do.  I looked at doll stuff and blogged... how exciting.  I didn't even do all the stuff I usually do on poupee girl and I didn't watch this week's Inkigayo yet.  It's now almost 9:30 and the husband will be here any minute.  Is it sort of odd I'd rather not see him and I don't know why...  I guess I'm just in an odd funk today.

Oh yah, that blog thing I do...

Somehow I always try to remind myself to blog, but as usual don't get around to doing it.  I do well with it for a week or so but then fall off for a month or something.  I think it's just time these days.  I used to blog all the time when I was in college and then I sit and think the time I spent in classes plus the time I worked part time should theoretically add up to approximately the same time I work now.  I just need more sleep these days I guess.  Getting so old lol.

This past weekend was pretty good.  Plans I had for Saturday got canceled because my friend wasn't feeling well and mainly because of some medicine to heal something that wasn't making her really physically sick. So I ended up spending the day home with my husband.  I say home but I really mean my parents house at the moment.  There is a slab leak back home and most of our bedroom carpet is soaked so we had to move everything out of our room.  Landlord/best friend is doing his best to try and get it fixed as quickly as possible, but having issues with insurance people getting back to him.  So we're looking at being here until mid July.  This weekend Hallmark channel was playing a marathon of I Love Lucy which I spent most of my Saturday watching because I will forever love that show and never see it enough times ever.
Sunday I went up to my friends' shop Baubles & Frills up in Denton.  I got to teach a doll re-stringing class for a very lovely new-ish dolly owner.  It was a lot of fun and I'm glad I could be helpful and informative and instructed her how to string her doll mainly getting he to work with it hands on and do as much of it herself as was easily managable.  Afterwards helped my friend Gina do some hot glue sueding and restringing to some project dolls she's working on.  Came home and my dad and husband had been grilling all afternoon and cooked up a bunch of food and some family and friends came over.  It was good times.  Then flipping through cable channels I find out my parents have the Mnet America channel and I'm like SHUT UP!  MNET ON MAH CABLE!!!  It was exciting despite the M!Countdown episodes and Music Videos on their MV show are maybe about a month to month and a half old.  But it's still really exciting and definitely shows the power of hallyu.  Caught up on my Kpop programing from last week

This morning started watching this past weekends Music Bank special show.  It was such a fun special.  I almost didn't skip over anything.  It was fun seeing people back again and seeing current groups who are promoting going strong.  And all the fun mash-ups.  B1A4 + APink was just tooo precious, it was like cuteness overload and totally a great thing to start my later to become pretty grrr-tastic Monday.  After coming home from work and watching the rest of the show it was very enjoyable.  I was amused by the Infinite + Teen Top, but it was pretty good.  Also was totally digging Shinee!  They looked and sounded AMAZING!  Okay so enough of the fangirling talk.

Work as I said was very grr-tastic.  One of the other leads called in and I had to sort of haphazard do at least a part of her job so we could get one project rolling for the day.  I'm anticipating tomorrow to be a bit heavy since both jobs that I worked on today that involved mail from a PO Box were more than usually light for a Monday.  Might I add I did A LOT of walking back and forth in my building today.  Was pretty tiresome and so happy I've got new shoes.  I got really annoyed at one point becuase ladies that are in the primary room I work in were being very complaintative and non-compliant about what our boss instructed them to do.  It was just sad and dumb (which of course annoyed me).  Anyways I hope tomorrow is a better work day.

That's pretty much all I can think that I wanted to get out there for right now.  Let's see how well I remember I'm totally supposed to be doing this more often.
